Gray and Livingston qualify for US Open pipe finals

With the US Open underway, Canadian riders are making their names heard and putting their personal stamp on one of snowboarding’s greatest events.

Halfpipe qualifications were held yesterday where 120 riders battled for one of 10 available spots in the finals. Harrison Gray and Derek Livingston both made it through  through the pre-qualification and qualification rounds, and will now get to face off against invited riders such as Shaun White, Scotty Lago and Steve Fisher in the finals on Saturday.

The slopestyle pre-qualifiers were scheduled for today, and a number of Canadian shredders were able to rise to the top of the 121 men vying for a spot if the qualification round on Friday.

Zak Stone, Mark McMorris, Jeremy Cloutier and Derek Livingston will all have a chance to capture one of the 10 available spots in the slope finals where they will compete against invited pros such as Tim Humphreys, Chas Guldemond , Charles Reid and Sebastien Toutant.
