Although it was Chas Guldemond who walked away as the big winner from the US Open, taking home more than $175,000 CAD during the weekend, it was Canadian rider Sebastien Toutant who put an exclamation point on the fact that he is one of the best young shredders in snowboarding.

Following his 3rd place finish in the Invitational Quarterpipe Contest, Toutant threw down another podium-worthy run to claim 2nd place, behind Guldemond, in the Slopestyle final on Sunday. Also following up a great result in the quarterpipe contest, Scotty Lago snatched the last spot on the podium and a brand new Volvo as the Most Valuable Rider.

On the women’s side it was Kjersti Buaas who claimed 1st place and the Volvo as Women’s Most Valuable Rider, followed by Jenny Jones and Chanelle Sladics in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
